What TSA Has Done for Me
Christina Martin President |
TSA has made me feel more confident in my abilities. It has also given me a higher self-esteem. I was always the child who was loud and crazy, but was still fairly insecure on the inside. Now, I behave differently. I am quieter, but I am a much stronger person.
I also feel prepared, and try to be more resourceful. I think being an officer has forced me to conform to these things, because I know I have more responsibility. |

TSA is very important to me. Sure, going to places like Atlanta and Denver are fun, but it also provides more. TSA provides valuable job skills, friendship, and competition. A few years ago, I had no idea what career field I wanted to enter. After four years of TSA, I know I definitely want to be an engineer. Friendship is something you will find in TSA, because it is a club of intelligent problem solvers just like you.
Almost everyone enjoys the competitions. After working very hard on an event, after striving to finish your project the night before you leave for the conference (yes, many of us are procrastinators), your name is called for first place. You go up to the stage, claim your trophy, and then realize that you are going to nationals. This is one of the best feelings you will have during your years as a student. During my time in TSA I have gained these three things, and many more.
TSA is one of the things I will miss very much when I move on to other things after high school and college, but I plan to serve as an alumni. I feel this club is a very good opportunity for any student. |

This association means a lot to me. Since I joined, I’ve seen many changes in my personality and attitude, and it’s given me leadership skills, responsibility, and self-confidence.
When I first joined TSA, I was a little scared sometimes to state my opinions and my goals. I never imagined I’d be a state officer. I’ve gained enough self-confidence to take any leadership role without a problem. I’m very thankful for that.
I’ve gained many friends since I joined TSA, and I’m sure I’ll gain many more. These friends have really helped me along the way. If any of you guys are out there, I want you to know this. Thanks for all the times you’ve pushed me beyond my limits. You are the reason I’ve achieved as much as I have. I’m extremely grateful for my officer team, friends, and advisors. Thanks guys! |

TSA has taught me everything needed in life. I have received leadership skill, responsibility, self-confidence, knowledge, and great friendships. You learn things that you will use in life and will never forget. Because of TSA I have gotten to go see places and meet people that I otherwise would never had the chance to go. I never was really self-confident until I was part of TSA and met some great people. You gain friendships that will last forever. It’s like having one big family! Hopefully TSA will be around forever so everyone else has the chance to be part of it and learn a great deal for life. I know I will be apart of TSA as long as I can. |

Throughout the years that I have been in TSA I have learned many valuable life-long lessons, such as leadership, responsibility, problem solving, and time management. Being in TSA has given me numerous opportunities to meet new and exciting people such as the officer team that I am working with this year.
Because of how wonderfully the organization is set up and administrated, just coming to the conferences can teach you almost every aspect of leadership, responsibility, problem solving, and time management that you will need in the real world. Through TSA, I have learned technology, its history, how to apply it to everyday life, and how it is combined with innovation to help with everyday life.
Above all, TSA is a wonderful organization that I hope will never dissipate, it has helped me to become a better person in all areas of life and it can be assured that I will be around TSA long after I have finished high school. |

TSA has helped me become a better leader, instead of a follower. Watching the team captain in my events has prepared and transformed me into being the team captain.
I’ve met new, interesting people because of the traveling opportunities I have had. I have met people not only from the USA, but also from all over the world. |
