2002 TSA National Conference - Denver,

June 24-28, 2002
WV had a great time at the National Conference
in Denver this year. We got to fly to Denver because a bus trip
would have taken 3 days! Competition was stiff, but we came home
with one 1st place trophy from Christine Shanaberger (Morgantown HS) in
Imaging Technology, and three 3rd place winners: Joanna
Padovini (Morgantown HS) in Dragster Design, the team from Tyler
Consolidated HS in Problem Solving, and the team from Clay County
MS in Manufacturing Challenge! Congratulations to everyone who
placed in the top ten! Way to go.
The group decided to split up on our touring
day. Most of South MS and Morgantown HS went to Six Flags and the
other students took a tour bus of the Rocky Mountains. Wildfires had
been burning for over a week, and many places in the mountains were shut
down to the public. there was still some beautiful scenery.
On another note, Alta McDaniel was elected to
the Board of Directors, and then elected to serve as President Elect next
year! |
